Best of 2012

Just like we did last year, we all sat down and made a list of our favorite albums of 2012. Which was hard, as 2012 proved to be an awesome year, with some amazing releases.
The only album that is in all five of our top 10 lists, is the latest Black Breath. If you haven’t checked it out yet, go for it now. It will fucking blow you away. I remember we drove into Spain on our tour in March, and we put it on the stereo. Loud. That probably was the only time the entire band was relatively quiet for about 40 mins, on that entire tour.
Another remarkable thing is four out of five lists sharing the same #1. Wouter doesn’t like ‘m, but the rest loves ‘m: The Menzingers. It’s the most played album of the year for most of us, so another one to check out.

Below you will find our communal top 10 if we add everything up. Under that you will find the individual top 10′s of everyone in our band.
For those with Spotify, subscribe to our playlist, and listen to (most of) the albums that made it to our top 10′s!

Feel free to share your lists with us, or tell us what we missed out on. There’s nothing more fun than discussing music!

01 – The Menzingers – On The Impossible Past
02 – Black Breath – Sentenced To Life
03 – Hot Water Music – Exister
04 – Cattle Decapitation – Monolith Of Inhumanity
05 – Propagandhi – Failed States
06 – Testament – Dark Roots Of Earth
07 – Title Fight – Floral Green
08 – No Turning Back – No Regrets
09 – First Aid Kit – The Lion’s Roar
10 – Tenement Kids – Tenement Kids

Here. In my van!

When Note to Amy is on the road, all packed into our cozy little van, we love to blast our special playlist and sing along as loud as we can.
Everyone in the band has put some awesome songs on this playlist, and they’re all tracks that have something to do with our band or with being on the road (as you can tell by the titles).
Well, this Wednesday we’ll take of again, hitting Berlin, Hamburg, Osnabruck, Cologne, Den Haag, Tilburg and Gemert, so there’ll be a ton of driving and singing again. Below you’ll find our playlist on Spotify (or just click here), so you can enjoy it too, and share some of the fun. And if you subscribe, you’ll get all the updates too!

Let us know if you have any good additions that we haven’t thought of yet, and we’ll put them on our list, and will sing along to them as well.
But please don’t suggest Winds Of Change, we are terrible whistlers.

* Of course we will also play and sing along to Bad Religion albums and Iron Maiden’s “Life After Death”.

Don’t call it Schnitzel!

Last weekend we played at the Eurock Marathon, featuring Nina Hagen, and some great bands from all over Europe that we hadn’t met or heard before. We had a lovely time, partied hard, rocked hard, handed out a million flyers for our next German shows, made some friends, went bowling and drove home again.

It was a good taste of Germany so to say, and we are very excited to drive back over there next week, for our “Don’t Call It Schnitzel-tour”.
This trip we’ll be hitting Berlin, Hamburg, Osnabrück and Köln, and in Holland you can catch us in Tilburg, Den Haag and Gemert. All shows are together with our great friends of Berri Txarrak. Check out the shows section on the website to have the last info on our dates, and on where to get your tickets from.

If you would like to know what Note to Amy in Germany looks like, have a look at the video below. It’s a news item on German television about the Eurock Marathon, and it features us playing “Love Is A Dog From Hell”.
